Top 5 Types of Glass Doors

Glass doors are commonly featured in both renovations and new constructions. They enhance views and enable natural light to flow into the interior of a home or commercial building. Glass doors are available in a large range of different styles and sizes, suitable for any upcoming project.

Hinged Single Door

The most traditional choice would be to opt for a hinged door. These feature a swivelling hinge on one side of the door frame, allowing the door to swing open from the wall. Hinges can be chosen so the door opens inwards, outwards or both ways. The structure of the door frame and the hinges will need to be able to support the weight of the door when it is open.

French Doors

French doors are essentially comprised of two single hinged doors that open away from each other. They provide an excellent transition between rooms, spaces, indoors and outdoors. French doors are also great as they maximise the space of an opening.

Bi-Fold Doors

Bi-fold doors take the form of a concertina, featuring a series of individual folding door panels. These panels can be either framed or frameless. They often run along a track and are typically pushed to the side of the structural opening when open.

Pivot Doors

Pivot doors feature hinges that are mounted at the top and bottom of the door. When open, the door takes up both interior and exterior space. They can be installed as a singular unit or in a group.

Sliding Doors

Sliding glass doors provide an excellent opportunity for homeowners to maximise their views. They allow for expansive vision between interior and exterior spaces in a contemporary manner.
